*BeauSoleil: "Jusqu' A La Nuit (Until The Nights)" (Cajunization 1999) Am. Cajun band fm Lafayette,  LA formed by Michael Doucet, fiddle, guit., acc., mandolin & vox, Bessyl Duhon, accordian & Kenneth Richard, guit. including elements of rock, jazz, blues & calypso.
*Wayne Toups & Zydecajun: "Please Explain" (Fish Out Of Water 1991) Cajun fusion band led by Wayne Toups playing a mix of Cajun music, zydeco, soul & southern rock.
*Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie: "Duralde Stomp" (That's What I'm Talkin' About! 1996) Am. Zydeco band led by G Delafose (acc. & vox) playing nouveau zydeco which is deeply rooted in trad. Creole music, Cajun & country & western. GD son of famous zydeco accordionist John Delafose.

*The Meters: "Fire On The Bayou" (Fire On The Bayou 1975) Considered one of the founding fathers of funk they blend funk, blues & dance grooves with a N.O. vibe. Keyboardist & vocalist Art Neville, bassist George Porter Jr., drummer Joseph 'Zigaboo' Modaliste & guitarist Leo Nocentelli formed in 1965.
*Dr. John: "Chickee Le Pas" (N'awlinz: Dis, Dat Or D'udda 2004) Malcolm John Rebennack Am. singer songwr. combined blues pop jazz boogie woogie & rock 'n' roll in his unique sound. Died 6/2019.
*Jon Cleary: "Heavy Under Pressure" (Moonburn 1999) English pianist, vocalist & songwriter based in New Orleans. Exposed to N.O. music as a teen when his uncle brought back an Allen Toussaint album and tons of N.O. R&B 45s. He moved to N.O. in 1981.

*Issa Bagayogo: "M'Ba Fodi" (Mali Koura 2008) Malian singer & musician played a kamele n'goni (6 string West Afr. instrument) and maintained the griot tradition singing about issues important to his people. Because he fused his traditional W. Afr. music with electro beats he got the name 'Techno Issa.'
*Cheikh Lo: "Degg Gui feat. Flavia Coelho & Fixi" (Balbalou 2015) Burkina Faso vocalist & drummer moved to Senegal. In 1985 bought his first guitar and began composing his own songs. Later moved to Paris and worked as a studio musician.
*Diogal: "Sore" (Liir 2003) Senegalese author singer & composer now based in France. He is a self taught guitarist and composed his first songs as a child.

*Montefiori Cocktail: "Anonimo Veneziano" (Raccolta No. 2 2000) Italian twin brothers Francesco (Kekko) on keys and Federico (Kikko) on sax, flute & vox. playing future jazz & easy listening music with a sense of humor.
*Soulstance: "Love Comes Again" (Life Size 2003) Italian brothers Gianni & Enzo Lo Greco influenced by swinging dance music of Brazil and 70s groove music play Latin & soulful jazz.
*Sam Paglia: "Soul 69 Theme" (The Rare Sam Paglia 2005) Godfather of Italian Lounge plays Hammond organ on jazz, soul, lounge & funk with influence from Italian soundtracks of the 60s.
*Monsieur Blumeberg: "Escamotage" (Musique Et Coleurs 2001) Federico Montefiori, sax, flute & vox. of Montefiori Cocktail playing his "Wunderkammer Music" style defined in English as "Cabinet of Curiosities"

*Mondo Grosso: "Kemuri feat. Rhyme" (Attune/Detune 2018) Japanese producer, composer, musician,& DJ Shinichi Osawa was leader & bassist for the group Mondo Grosso, (Italian for Big World.) Rhyme: Australian poet/singer/songwriter based in Japan.
*Bajka: "A Vison" (The Only Religion/A Vision Single 2005) Poet. producer, sing/songwr. born in India & raised in Portugal & So. Africa, currently based in Germany.
*Club Des Belugas & anna.luca: "Crazy Lazy Friday Afternoon" (Strange Things Beyond The Sunny Side 2019) European Nu-jazz band led by Maxim Ilion (Martin Kratzenstein) & Kitty The Bill (Katrin Stoffel). Anna Luca: Swedish-German singer/composer.

*Harry Hosono & The Yellow Magic Band: "Japanese Rhumba" (Paraiso 1978) Japanese music icon Haruomi Hosono influenced by the music of Hawaii & Okinawa and adding electronic elements that would foreshadow his future work with Yellow Magic Orchestra with Ryuichi Sakamoto & Yukihiro Takahashi.
*Masayoshi Takanaka: "My Secret Beach" (T-Wave 1980) Japanese guitarist, composer & producer was a member of Sadistic Mika Band.
*Sadistic Mika Band: "Dontaku" (Black Ship 1974) Japanese glam rock/funk rock band started by guitarist Kazuhiko Kato in 1972 with singer/wife Mika Kato & Masayoshi Takanaka on lead guitar.

*Thunderball: "12 Mile High" (12 Mile High 2010) Wash. DC based trio Steve Raskin, Sid Barcelona & Rob Myers are one of the spinoff bands from the Eighteenth Street Lounge Label playing electronic, funk, reggae and hip hop.
*Thievery Corporation: "Focus On Sight" (The Mirror Conspiracy 2000) Am. electronic duo of Rob Garza & Eric Hilton mix the sounds of Indian, Middle Eastern, dub, bossa, reggae & hip hop.
*Zimpala: "Kove feat. Jazzamar" (The Breeze Is Black 2003) French producer/DJ Frederic Beneix (aka DJ BNX) directed the "Bordeaux Collective" feat. vocalist Noemie Brosset playing cinematic electronic music feat. world percussions and sensual jazz.

*Forro In The Dark: "Craudineia No Forro" (Sandcastle 2017) New York based band of Brazilian ex-pats Mauro Refosco, perc., Guilherme Monteiro, guit., Jorge Continentino, pifanos, flutes  & saxes. play No. Brazilian forro mixed with rock, jazz, reggae, psychedelia, folk and more.
*Bossacucanova: "Mais Perto Do Mar" (Brasilidade 2001) Brazilian group combines Bossa Nova with electronic music. Marcio Menescal, son of Roberto Menescal who plays on this album, Marcelinho DaLua & producer/engineer Alex Moreira.
*HighEnd: "Regrowth" (Brazil Remixed 2 2005) ?
*Wagner Tiso & Cesar Camargo Mariano: "Curumin" (Todas As Tecias 1983) Both are Brazilian composers, arrangers & pianists.
