*Innov Gnawa & AkizzBeatzz: "Bangara (AkizzBeatzz Remix)" (Single ) Innov Gnawa is a trad. NYC Moroccan gnawa band led by master Gnawa Maallem Hassan Ben Jaafer. AkizzBeatzz is a funk afro style prod. from Greece aka NOMAGIK. Gnawa combines trad. Moroccan music, dance & ritual poetry.
*Nickodemus feat. Innov Gnawa: "Mystic Molay" (A Long Engagement 2018) NYC DJ prod. Nick DeSimone plays world music and features artists from around the globe.
*Fort Knox Five: "Bhangra Paanch" (The New Gold Standard 2 2009) Wash. DC recording act feat. Steve Raskin, Jon Horvath, Rob Myers & Sid Barcelona. They mix elements of funk, reggae, hip hop & electronica.

*Ikebe Shakedown: "The Offering" (Stone By Stone 2014) IS plays with elements of Afro-funk, deep disco, boogaloo & cinematic soul. They are known for their mighty horn section & tight grooves. They co-write their material together.
*David Nesselhauf: "The Calling" (A Guide To Afrokraut III 2023) D Nesselhauf is a German bassist, singer & comp. He is a founding member of Diazpora and plays with the Hamburg Spinners.
*The Shaolin Afronauts: "Sissoko" (Follow The Path 2014) TSA are an Adelaide, Australia inst. afro beat band in the tradition of Fela Kuti's Africa 70 playing avant garde soul & trad. African & Cuban rhythms.

*Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings: "Genuine, Pt. 1" (Soul Time! 2011) S Jones has been described as a "fire breathing soul survivor." A former corrections officer, Jones was discovered while singing back-up for Philip Lehmann of Soul Providers.
*My Trippin' Mojo: "Make 'Em Pass" (Edda's Garden 2016) Funk/soul band from Leipzig, Germany with a 60s sound & style & vox by Sabrina Bornmann.
*Beta Hector: "Creepin' feat. Dionne Charles" (Payback/Creepin' Single 2010) Musician, prod. DJ Simon Hill is the man behind Beta Hector. He also formed Baby Charles with UK soul queen Dionne Charles fronting and singing lead.

*Black Pumas: "Red Rover" (Black Pumas 2020) Multi-inst. comp. prod. Adrian Quesada out of Austin TX formed psych/soul band BP with sing/songwr. Eric Burton after Burton relocated to Austin from California.
*Monophonics & Kelly Finnigan: "Sage Motel" (Sage Motel 2022) San Fran Bay Area soul band feat. Kelly Finnigan on keys and lead vox. They play their own brand of psych. soul.
*Mr. Confuse: "Only Rainbows feat. Dan Salem" (Only A Man 2018) Hannover Germany prod. DJ comp. & label owner presents his own style of 60s 70s & beyond funk & soul.
*Anderson .Paak: "Anywhere (Inst.)" (Oxnard (Inst.) 2018) Brandon Paak Anderson is Amer. musician, prod. Anderson Paak. His follow up album Malibu received a Grammy nom.

*Angelique Kidjo: "Ekoleya" (Logozo 1991) A Kidjo is from Benin, West Afr. and grew up in a musical family. Her mother was choreographer & director of a theatre where Angelique sang & danced as a child of 6.
*Brenda Fassie: "Let It Be" (Abantu Bayakhuluma 1994) Brenda Fassie was a So. Afr. anti-apartheid Afropop singer known as So. Africa's Queen of Pop.
*Miriam Makeba: "Pata Pata" (Welela 1989) Grammy award So. Afr. singer known as "Mama Africa" lived in exile during apartheid. She regarded Pata Pata as a kind of silly song that lacked depth. She called it a "fun little song with no meaning."

*Mo' Horizons: "Hang Loose Pt. 2 feat. Tricky Pantrick" (Music Sun Love 2019) German producers Mark "Foh" Wetzler & Ralf Droesemeyer formed in the late 90s and started their own label Agogo Records following their fourth album.
*Thievery Corporation: "Focus On Sight" (The Mirror Conspiracy 2000) Amer. electronic duo of Rob Garza & Eric Hilton cover a wide variety of styles incl. Latin, Brazilian, Indian & Middle Eastern music.
*Thunderball: "Rio Mescalito" (12 Mile High 2010) Wash DC based trio of Sid Barcelona, Steve Raskin & Rob Myers. They effectively retired the Thunderball project, added Jon Horvath & became The Fort Knox Five.

*Sun Ra: "Urnack" (Singles-The Definitive 45 Collection... 2016) Amer. free jazz composer, pianist & band leader, pioneer of free improv. & modal jazz & early user of electronic keys & synths. 
*Kamasi Washington: "Integrity" (Harmony Of Difference-EP 2017) Amer. Jazz saxophonist, comp. prod. & band leader. 
*Makaya McCraven: "Sunset" (Deciperhing The Message 2021) Amer. jazz drummer comp. & prod. His father is drummer Stephen McCraven & mother is Hungarian folk singer/flutist Agnes Zsigmondi.
